You talkin’ to me? NYC’s 1st ever ‘De Niro Con’ to kick off in June

You’ve got a while to plan for SantaCon and FranCon, but De Niro Con is right around the corner.

Named for — you guessed it — actor Robert De Niro, the convention-slash-De Niro celebration will take place June 14 through 16, coinciding with the final days of the 2024 Tribeca Festival.

On its website, the festival describes the three-day De Niro Con as a “tribute” to the movie icon. It will feature film screenings, panel discussions, photos from De Niro’s personal archive, costume exhibits and “fireside chats” with some of his collaborators.

Passes to De Niro Con are now on sale, with three levels of pricing. The least expensive option, the “Johnny Boy Pass,” gets you one-day access for $150. Other options include the $500 “Goodfella Pass” and the $3,500 “Godfather Pass.” Tickets for single events will also be sold online.

“Bob’s a visionary,” said filmmaker Martin Scorsese at the announcement ceremony.

Mayor Eric Adams presented De Niro with a key to the city at the event, and Gov. Kathy Hochul praised the festival’s founders for “their support of the arts and their contributions to our state.”

A full lineup for De Niro Con has yet to be announced, but there should be…
