Week 11 appears to be rivalry week in the NFL as four key divisional matchups and one of the AFC’s biggest rivalries in recent years shape this weekend’s landscape. While the Giants’ bye week allows one-half of the New York City area football fan base to recuperate, the floundering Jets may get a reprieve when they face an equally dysfunctional Indianapolis Colts side.
The big-time matchups start right from the jump as the NFC East’s top two teams, the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders, square off on Thursday night.Â
The Eagles were expected to be here. The Commanders, not so much. But that is what the power of a dynamic rookie quarterback can do as Washington’s offense has scored the most points in the NFL this season.
In the NFC North, one of the game’s most historic rivalries rekindles with the Green Bay Packers visiting the Chicago Bears. The problem is that these are the bottom two teams in the division, and Chicago rookie quarterback and No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams is having one of the most unimpressive seasons by a passer in recent memory, recording just 1,785 yards with nine touchdowns and five interceptions in nine games.Â
In the AFC North, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the resurgent Russell Wilson continue to defy the odds as they hold the top spot in the division at 7-2. They’ll face their toughest test yet in the 7-3 Baltimore Ravens, sitting just a half-game behind them with the unstoppable Derrick Henry providing star-studded support for Lamar Jackson.
