Getting a beer and a hot dog at the ballgame is a tradition nearly as old as baseball itself. But what if you didnโ€™t want the beer?

The Mets kept dry fans in mind between June 29-July 2 at Citi Field when they teamed up with Absence of Proof to bring an array of non-alcoholic โ€œmocktailsโ€ to the fan-viewing experience.

โ€œI noticed the lack of nightlife and social options that didnโ€™t center around alcohol,โ€ Absence of Proof Founder and CEO Elizabeth Gascoigne said. โ€œI personally understand the need for these booze-free experiences and I fundamentally felt the otherness of being the only one not drinking in those typical alcohol-centric environments.โ€

Located within the Piazza Club, fans were able to experience full food and non-alcoholic beverage service that included cocktail, wine, and beer options as the Mets continue searching for ways to create a more inclusive fan experience at Citi Field.

While they ate and drank, lawn games, a live DJ, and a 360ยฐ photo booth were available along with visits from Mr. and Mrs. Met to keep the party going.

โ€œMany of our Amazinโ€™ fans are interested in enjoying a fun mocktail environment,โ€ Mets co-owner and president of the Amazinโ€™ Mets Foundation, Alex Cohen, said. โ€œWe are thrilled to partner with Absence of Proof to bring a new and innovative alcohol-free experience to Citi Field.โ€

Absence of Proof was founded in 2022 to provide options for โ€œsober-curiousโ€ people โ€” a population that has grown more prevalent among Millennial and Gen Z consumers looking for alternative options to alcoholic beverages.
