Just perfect – that’s the Tigers football team at Fort Hamilton High School. They’ll take their 3-0 record to Manhattan’s Randolph High School Campus, Saturday, Oct. 12th for their next contest.
The Fort topped Boys and Girls High School, 32-20 last week – and it wasn’t easy. The Kangaroos jumped out to an early 8-0 lead; but sophomore Harold “Trey” Marshall III gave the Tigers a 20-8 cushion with his five-yard first-quarter touchdown run.
Senior quarterback Aiden Farley’s pass to sophomore Aiden Porter was complete for the two-point conversion.
Zaire Thomas caught a 214-yard touchdown pass from Farley to up the score to 26-14; and Marshall III completed the scoring for the Tigers with a 13-yard run in the third quarter. For the afternoon, Marshall III rushed for 53 yards on six carries with two touchdowns and caught one pass for 32 yards.
Farley was six for seven passing for 108 yards and a touchdown at quarterback. As a team, Fort Hamilton had 175 total yards – Boys and Girls had 244 on 50 plays. The Fort had 22 offensive plays. It was 108 passing yards to just 13 for the Tigers; but the Kangaroos rushed for 231 yards to 67 for the Fort.

Tom Ferrante reports New Utrecht High School Football Alumni Day was a huge success in terms of fundraising.
“We raised $3,400, which is the most we’ve ever raised at any Alumni Day,” he writes. “The Alumni Club account is now up to $7,600. The funds are made available to Coach Wendell Fevrine for anything the team may need.”

Dan Lynch, the former baseball coach at Brooklyn’s St. Francis College wanted to know the names of Jewish basketball players who wore a Terriers’ jersey. “What with the holidays coming up, I thought it would be a good idea,” he said.
