The New York Liberty will get a chance to defend their Commissioner’s Cup championship right here in Downtown Brooklyn later this month.

How sweet it is!

After ruining league-leading Connecticut’s perfect start Saturday, the Liberty made sure the Washington Mystics remained winless at Downtown’s Barclays Center Sunday.

The winning weekend capped a stretch of five in-season tournament games in eight days for New York’s “Superteam.”

New York dropped the Sun (9-1) with an 82-75 triumph at Mohegan Sun Arena before extending its season-high winning streak to seven games with Sunday’s 93-88 victory over the Mystics (0-12) in front of 12,477 fans on the corner of Atlantic and Flatbush.

Jonquel Jones scored 29 points against Washington to go with eight rebounds and two blocked shots.

She also drilled a trifecta of 3-pointers in the opening quarter, backing up the three she nailed in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s win in Connecticut.

Though she struggled to find her true role on the team a year ago, fresh off six years with the Sun, including an MVP campaign in 2001, Jones is showing off the multi-dimensional skills that made her New York’s most consistent player in last year’s postseason.

“I’m in better shape,” Jones said of her second season in Brooklyn. “Everything was new last year, so it was just figuring things out. Now, it’s less of that and more chemistry.”
