GERMANTOWN — An 18-year-old man was killed in a crash on Route 9G late Thursday.
At about 10:17 p.m., State Police were called to the scene of the crash in the town of Germantown. A preliminary investigation determined that the driver and sole occupant, Raphael B. McDonald of Athens, was driving north on the state highway when he slid off the road and crashed into a utility pole.
McDonald was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. During the investigation, which is ongoing, it was determined that McDonald was speeding and failed to negotiate a curve, troopers said.
