State Police are detouring vehicles off of the highway at Exit 12 as troopers investigate a multi-vehicle wreck that left one person badly injured

MALTA – The southbound side of the Northway remains closed between exits 12 and 11 as State Police investigate crashes that left one person badly injured.
Troopers were alerted to the crash at 7:39 a.m. A second crash occurred after the first. The cause of the original crash was not yet available.
As of 10 a.m., traffic on the southbound side of the highway was being diverted at Exit 12.
Crash investigators remained at the scene later Monday morning and Trooper Stephanie L. O’Neil said the highway could be closed for a few more hours.
