COLONIE — Four people were injured in two separate car crashes in Colonie on Saturday, police said.

The Colonie Police Department says three cars were involved in a crash shortly before 10 a.m. on New Loudon Road near the entrance to the North Colonie Youth Baseball complex. Two of the cars rolled over and one caught fire. All three drivers were injured, one critically, police said. They say passers-by helped the driver of the burning car out of the vehicle and helped to put out the fire.

All three drivers were taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital.

Speed may have played a role in the crash and the investigation is ongoing, police said.

The second crash happened around 10 p.m. on Wolf Road near Park Place. Police say a woman in a wheelchair was attempting to cross from the east side of the road to the west side when she was struck by a car traveling south. She was knocked from her wheelchair and suffered multiple injuries. She was taken to Albany Med where she remains with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver was not hurt and stopped immediately after hitting the woman, police said. She is cooperating fully and police believe neither speed or impairment played a role in the crash.

Colonie police ask that anyone with information or video of the crashes to please call the traffic division at…
