Authorities determined all threats made towards Hackett throughout Friday were unfounded.
Albany police searched a city residence in connection to the Hackett threats Saturday, according to a statement issued by John Yagielski, interim superintendent for the City School District of Albany. Investigations are ongoing at the local, state and federal level.
The school district’s security team is evaluating safety procedures this week and will make any necessary adjustments, Yagielski wrote. Students or parents aware of any threat are encouraged to report information to school officials or authorities immediately.
School districts across the region including Albany, Troy, Saratoga Springs, Schodack and East Greenbush went into lockdown Thursday morning after receiving false reports of active shooters. The Associated Press reported similar hoax calls have been made to schools and colleges nationwide for months.
