- On July 6, State Police contacted dispatchers about a child with a significant leg injury after being hit by a boat propeller on Raquette Lake.
Rangers responded and worked with police to interview those involved. The 12-year-old victim from Philadelphia was tubing when he lost his grip and fell into the water. The boat’s driver circled to retrieve him but lost sight of the boy and hit him with the propeller.

Herkimer County Life Flight then flew the boy to the hospital. State Police are continuing to investigate.
