Police say Zachary D. Yeager, 42, was struck while walking on Route 32 shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday night
NORTHUMBERLAND — A town man is dead after being stuck by two cars on state Route 32 near the hamlet of Gansevoort Saturday night.
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office says Zachary D. Yeager, 42, of Northumberland was walking south just before 11 p.m. when he was struck from behind by a 2005 Honda Accord driven by a 56-year-old man from Schuylerville. The impact pushed Yeager into the northbound lane where he was struck again by a 2012 Acura TSX driven by a 40-year-old woman from Queensbury.
Yeager was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Queensbury driver was charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree. She was issued appearance tickets for Northumberland Town Court.
The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff’s collision reconstruction unit. A call to the sheriff’s office seeking additional clarification was not immediately returned Sunday afternoon.
