BALLSTON SPA – A town of Saratoga man convicted of sexually assaulting two children under the age of 13 was sentenced to 78 years to life in prison, Saratoga County District Attorney Karen Heggen’s office said Tuesday.
A jury in February convicted Nathaniel Bradford, 37, of nine charges, including predatory sexual assault. All of the charges related to sex crimes occurring from 2014 to 2020, Heggen’s office said.
There were two victims. One of them disclosed the abuse, and the investigation led to the identification of the second victim, the prosecutors said in a press release.
Bradford used alcohol and drugs to entice the victims for years, Senior Assistant District Attorney Michele Schettino said in the statement.
In their statement, prosecutors quoted County Court Judge James A. Murphy III during the sentencing as saying Bradford had “stolen the childhood” of both victims. He commended them for their bravery in confronting Bradford in court.
Murphy granted a 100-year order of protection for both victims and the members of their households.
Bradford was convicted of nine charges: predatory sexual assault; two counts of predatory sexual assault against a child under the age of 13; three counts of second-degree rape and second-degree criminal sexual act, all felonies, as well as two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
