COLONIE — The 16th Annual Neighborhood Food Drive to benefit the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York was held Sunday.
Ahead of time, more than 77 volunteers delivered nearly 14,000 bags to their neighbors’ homes with a flyer requesting donations of the most needed non-perishable food and personal care items. They then collected the donations from people’s homes on Sunday and delivered them to the Regional Food Bank on Albany Shaker Road. The Food Bank expected to collect more than 36,000 pounds of items, enough for nearly 30,000 meals.
