Road rage suspect faces weapon charge

ALBANY — An East Nassau man was arrested on Tuesday following an alleged road rage incident involving a handgun, State Police said Friday. 

The 32-year-old faces criminal possession of a weapon, criminal use of a firearm, reckless endangerment and menacing charges related to the incident, in addition to other vehicle and traffic law violations, troopers said. 

Police responded to the report of a road rage incident late Tuesday afternoon, where a firearm was reportedly discharged in another vehicle’s direction. The two vehicles collided and became disabled on I-90 in Albany. 

With assistance of a police dog, troopers searched the vehicle and surrounding area where a loaded handgun was recovered. Police say no one was injured. The suspect was arraigned and jailed without bail.
