SCHENECTADY — Police said they are investigating a woman’s death Sunday morning as a homicide.
Schenectady police said dispatchers received a call at 5:18 a.m. about a woman in need of medical attention. Police and firefighters arrived at 1030 Pleasant St. and said they found a woman in her 40s who was unconscious. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s name is not being released until family are notified, police said. There is no suspect at this time.
This is the second homicide of a woman found in a Mont Pleasant neighborhood home this week. They are the first two killings in Schenectady this year.
On Monday, police responded to 953 Crane St. at 11:11 a.m. to check on the tenant and found she had been fatally shot. Police Tuesday identified her as Philomen L. Henry, 30. There have been no arrests in that case.
