CATSKILL – Federal authorities say a murder suspect wanted in Scranton, Pa. was found in Catskill after investigators determined he was hiding in the region.
Travis Lanzo is accused of killing David Deshler in Scranton on March 12. He was wanted in Scranton on charges of criminal homicide, criminal conspiracy to commit criminal homicide, aggravated assault, and a firearms violation.
Members of the U.S. Marshal’s Albany Division of the New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force said they found him at a residence in Catskill. The Ulster County Emergency Response Team and Ulster County Crisis Negotiation Team got involved, and the suspect surrendered.
Searching the residence, task force members said they found suspected narcotics that were packaged for distribution, a firearm with an obliterated serial number, and a firearm that was manufactured with no serial numbers, known as a ghost gun.
Lanzo was taken to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office for processing and was expected to be presented before a judge in Catskill later Friday.
