We are ready to spring out of the winter: gray doldrums we are accustomed to sinking into from November through … when does pothole season end?
One of our favorite ways to brighten up the day is when we go over the photo submissions for the annual Times Union Tulip Photo Contest. Tied to Mother’s Day weekend — and the annual Tulip Festival in Albany, from May 13-14 — we want to see your bulbs, blooms and beautiful views.
Here’s how you can enter:
The contest is for amateur photographers only. Starting April 12, you have until Wednesday, April 26, to submit your entries. Photos must be from the Greater Capital Region — Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren or Washington counties — taken between the spring of 2021 and the submission deadline.
Send your photos in an email to features editor Sara Tracey at [email protected]. Please include your name, hometown, where you shot the image and a best way to contact you (that last part won’t be published).
- April 27-28: Times Union staff will finalize the top 50
- May 3-5: Voting will occur! Visit timesunion.com/tulip2023 to see the finalists and cast your votes
- May 14: Winners of the contest will be printed in Unwind and unveiled at timesunion.com.
