LAKE GEORGE —The Warren County Tourism and Hospitality Community will honor several Heroes of Hospitality on July 20 at a dinner hosted by Fort William Henry. The community is invited.
Sam Luciano, president of the Fort William Henry Corp., said the event will be in its new venue, The Carriage House.
The annual event honoring those whose work has contributed to the success of the county’s tourism and hospitality is also a fundraiser for the SUNY Adirondack Scholarship Fund. Some proceeds from ticket sales will go to a student or students enrolled in the school’s Hospitality Management Program. Recipients must be a Warren County resident.
Hospitality management is one of five business degrees offered at SUNY Adirondack, which also offers a one-year certificate in the subject. In addition to general education classes, students in the program take event planning, hotel resort management and electives, including marketing, culinary classes and receive social media training.
“Students learn how vast the industry is and they receive an education they can take anywhere and get a job,” said Dr. Kelli Hatin, a professor of business.
The event will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, July 20, followed by fireworks. Register and purchase tickets on the Fort William Henry website: fortwilliamhenry.com/hospitality-heroes/
