Syracuse, N.Y. — A man got two more minutes of freedom after he managed to get out of handcuffs and make a run for it on Tuesday, deputies said.
Joseph Gianni, 42, of Salina, was being held in the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office headquarters at 407 S. State St. in Syracuse when he made his escape, said Tom Newton, a spokesperson for the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.
Gianni had been handcuffed to a bench in a holding section of the building, Newton said. He asked a detective for some water and the detective went to get it, he said.
