3 families displaced after 3-alarm fire destroys home in Oswego County

Fulton, N.Y. — A house was badly damaged in Fulton Tuesday after a fire spread from the second floor of a multi-family home and into the attic, firefighters said.

Around 9:18 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire on North Sixth Street, the Fulton Fire Department said in a Facebook post.

When firefighters arrived, flames could be seen on the second floor of the two-story home, firefighters said. Firefighters had to call in additional fire departments twice as the fire spread to the roof, they said.

Utilizing Minneto Fire Departmentโ€™s 75 foot aerial ladder, firefighters were able to get better access to the roof to fight the blaze.

The three families were provided a place to stay by the buildingโ€™s owner, firefighters said.

Firefighters were on scene until midnight.
