A state of emergency has been declared for the Adirondack town of Long Lake after massive amounts of rain has caused extreme flooding, bringing the destruction of homes, roads, dams and bridges in its wake.
According to the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, Town Supervisor Clay Arsenault declared the state of emergency at 5 a.m. and will remain in effect until further notice. During this time, non-essential travel is prohibited in Long Lake and the neighboring hamlet of Blue Mountain Lake.
