American High’s Jeremy Garelick on leadership: ‘I believe in people’

Jeremy Garelick’s first job in Hollywood was at a talent agency, answering phones and getting coffee. As an assistant to director Joel Schumacher, his duties included holding the director’s snacks and accompanying him on antiquing expeditions.

“Whatever it takes. I loved it,” says Garelick, now 47. “I learned a lot about antiquing. I learned a lot about life. I learned a lot about directing and a lot about the movie business.”
