Central New York native Juan Pablo Galavis is returning to reality TV as a proud dad.
Camila Galavis, the 14-year-old daughter of the former “The Bachelor” star, impressed the judges on “American Idol” Sunday night with her performance of “Rabia” by Joaquina. She’ll be the youngest contestant on the ABC singing competition this season.
Camila, a high school freshman, introduced herself as a Venezuela native who currently lives in Miami, Florida. When asked about her family’s musical background, she revealed that her father is “a manager in the social media industry because he was on The Bachelor.”
“He’s dreamy!” judge Luke Bryan said when he learned her famous dad was Juan Pablo.

He starred on “The Bachelor” season 18 in 2014 and won fans with his hunky accent, but later became known as the “most hated Bachelor” star in the history of the TV show after he gave the final rose to Nikki Ferrell without proposing, refusing to say he loved her and eventually breaking up later that year. (He married a Venezuelan TV presenter in 2017, but divorced three years later.)
Juan Pablo told the “Idol” judges that he was hesitant to have his daughter appear on the television show, but wanted to support her dream.
“She’s been singing since she’s little. The opportunity came. She wanted to do it, and I said, ‘I don’t know if you’re old enough.’ That was last year. They said, ‘Maybe next year,’” he recalled.
Juan Pablo sat at the piano during Camila’s audition, which she said made her feel more comfortable. Bryan said he loved her “confidence” and “personality” as she sang the Latin pop song.
