Clay gas station store robbed, deputies say

Clay, N.Y. — A gas station convenience store in the town of Clay was robbed at gunpoint Sunday night, the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office said.

Sheriff’s deputies responded around 7 p.m. to the robbery call at the Speedway store at 4803 West Taft Road, according to sheriff’s office spokesperson Thomas Newton.

Newton said in a news release that a man wearing a tan hoodie displayed a handgun at an employee. He robbed the store of an “undisclosed” amount of cash and then left on foot.

No injuries were reported.

The sheriff’s office asks anyone with information about the robbery to call them at 315-435-3081.
