Cicero, N.Y. — Onondaga County sheriff’s deputies have one person in custody after searching a Cicero home for bomb making devices and materials, according to Sheriff Toby Shelley.
The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad was called in to the property at 6212 Diffen Road as a precaution, said Shelly, who was at the scene. No bomb making materials were found, he said.
One person is in custody and being questioned, he said.
Deputies obtained a search warrant on evidence that led them to believe the home contained bomb making material, Shelley said.
There is no threat to the public, said Thomas Newton, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office.
Diffen Road is south of Route 31 near Cicero-North Syracuse High School.
