Expect dense fog in Cayuga and Oswego counties Wednesday morning

A report from the National Weather Service was issued on Wednesday at 5:55 a.m. for dense fog until 8 a.m. for Cayuga and Oswego counties.

“Areas of dense fog from the NYS Thruway north to Lake Ontario will continue early this morning, with reduction in visibility to a half a mile or less. Roadways that may be impacted by dense fog, but not limited to include Interstate 90, Interstate 190 and Route 104. Visibility can change quickly on roadways. If you are driving early this morning, slow down and be on alert for other motorists. Low visibility shortens the amount of time you have to react to situations,” according to the weather service.

Zero visibility strategy:

No parking options:

Once stationary, deactivate all lights except the hazard flashers, engage the emergency brake, and release the brake pedal to ensure your tail lights are not illuminated, reducing the risk of other drivers colliding with your stationary…
