Expect heavy snow in Cayuga County until 1 a.m. Monday

The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 11:28 p.m. on Sunday for heavy snow until Monday at 1 a.m. for Cayuga County.

“A band of heavy lake effect snow will drop south of Lake Ontario, impacting the Rochester area and Interstate 90 east to Syracuse. This band will drop a quick inch or two of snow, and lower visibility to a quarter mile. It will only last about an hour as it moves through, but will make travel conditions very difficult within the band,” according to the weather service.
