Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse women’s basketball coach Felisha Legette-Jack has been named to the watch list for the Naismith Women’s College Coach of the Year.
Legette-Jack is one of 15 coaches under consideration for the national honor.
In just her second season coaching her alma mater, Legette-Jack has quickly turned a program reeling from scandal. She has led the Orange back into the national polls and is just one game behind Virginia Tech in the ACC standings with three games remaining in the regular season.
The Orange (22-4, 12-3 ACC) is on the cusp of locking up a top-four seed in the ACC tournament, which would assure a spot in the quarterfinal round, and is vying for a top-four seed in the NCAA Tournament, which would allow the school the opportunity to host first- and second-round games in the JMA Wireless Dome.
