Fire on deck spreads to Syracuse home, displaces four people, firefighters say

Syracuse, N.Y. — A fire that started on the back deck of a home in Eastwood Friday night spread to the attic, leaving enough damage to displace four people, firefighters said.

Firefighters were called at 7:38 p.m. to the 1.5 story home at 220 S. Edwards Ave., District Chief Matt Craner, a Syracuse Fire Department spokesperson, said in a news release.
