Syracuse, N.Y. — Florida defensive end Will Norman, a former 4-star recruit who grew up in New Jersey, will visit the Syracuse football program this weekend.
Norman posted the news of his upcoming visit on X, the social media platform previously known as Twitter.
Norman is from Camden, the same hometown as Syracuse football coach Fran Brown, and plays a position where the Orange need to replace both of its starters from this past season This yearโs starters were Caleb Okechukwu, who is out of college eligibility, and Terry Lockett, who put his name into the transfer portal on Tuesday.
Brown has taken advantage of his New Jersey connections early in his tenure at Syracuse, with his first four verbal commitments coming from New Jersey players. That includes Emmaneul Ross, a four-star wide receiver who flipped his commitment from Stanford to Syracuse on Wednesday.
Norman played four games this year as a true freshman with the Gators. He made one tackle.
Norman was ranked by 247 Sports as the No. 195 player in the Class of 2023, the No. 23 defensive lineman and the No. 2 player in New Jersey. He was listed on the Florida roster at 6-foot-4 and 300 pounds.
Coming out of high school, Norman had offers from an array of blueblood programs including Michigan, LSU, Florida State and Auburn.
