Lake Placid, N.Y. — Good news, Hallmarkies: A “Hallmark-style Christmas movie” is set to be filmed in the Adirondacks.
Gemelli Films will shoot a holiday movie next month in Lake Placid, company president Candice Cain announced Saturday in a post on We Love Lake Placid NY, a Facebook page. Based on Long Island, the company states it specializes in making Hallmark movies and other “heartwarming” films.
The film is expected to be shot in Lake Placid from Dec. 4 to Dec. 21. And to make movie magic happen, Cain said she needs help.
Along with seeking a host of crew members ranging from makeup and hair stylists to production assistants and background actors, Cain said Gemelli Films is searching for locations to shoot — including houses, a “cozy” restaurant, a skating rink and a hill that offers nighttime sledding.
Cain asked anyone interested in applying for a position or offering a place to shoot to email [email protected]. Actors can apply through Actors Access.
Upstate New York is no stranger to holiday movies. In 2022 alone, at least two Hallmark-worthy films were shot Upstate: one in the Capital Region and another in Western New York.
