Herman and his hermits among 66,000 at New York State Fair for day 6

Geddes, N.Y. — Herman and his hermits were among the 66,000 who were at the New York State Fair for day six on Monday.

A total of 66,698 people were at the fair including the band Herman’s Hermits. Herman’s Hermits returned for the 12th time to the fair.

Day six was the fall teaser for those tired of heat, sun, and green leaves. Maple Day brought a sweet tasty and maybe even healthy treat to the fair. Fair-goers got to learn how the syrup gets made.

For those who prefer heartier food, tomorrow is Beef Day. Tomorrow the top three winners of New York’s Best Burger will demonstrate how they make their burgers. Ale N Angus Pub, a Syracuse restaurant, won the competition this year.

The fair continues through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 4. The midway is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day of the fair except for Labor Day when it closes at 9 p.m.
