Penn State has hired new offensive and defensive coordinators ahead of the game in Andy Kotelnicki and Tom Allen, respectively. While assistants will still be in charge for the big game, it remains unknown if the Nittany Lions will debut any new looks on their line under the influence of those new faces.
The Rebels went 10-2, wrapping their regular season by taking the Golden Egg trophy in a 17-7 win over rivals Mississippi State. Jaxson Dart has led the Ole Miss Offense to be ranked 15th nationally, averaging 455.4 yards per game, even though he threw for just 96 yards in their last outing.
Penn State is also 10-2, and leads the nation in total defense, allowing only 223.2 yards per game. This will be the first-ever meeting between the teams, and a high profile one at that, during a New Years Six bowl game.
