On Thursday at 3:47 a.m. a lake effect snow warning was issued by the National Weather Service valid for Thursday between 4 a.m. and 7 p.m. for Oswego County.
The weather service describes, “Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 10 inches in the most persistent lake snows. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.”
“Travel could be very difficult. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute,” says the weather service. “Heavy snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities.”
Advance Local Weather Alerts is a service provided by United Robots, which uses machine learning to compile the latest data from the National Weather Service.
