Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women’s lacrosse team had four multi-goal scorers en route to a 13-6 win over Delaware State University in Northeast Conference action on Saturday at Ted Grant Field.
“It was great to get a tally in the win column today,” said head coach Liz Beville. “While we need to clean some things up all over the field, a win always feels better than a loss. Kat Amico had a career day on the defensive end of the field and Emily Noel had some big plays for us after we made some changes in the offensive end. We will look to build off the positives of today vs. CCSU.”
The teams traded goals over the opening three minutes of the game. Senior midfielder Rhonee Shea Pal (Canastota, N.Y./Bishop Grimes) opened the scoring 89 seconds into the contest on a free-position shot. The Hornets answered back only 35 seconds later as Kendal Johnson scored her fourth goal of the season. Sophomore attacker Bella Sampo (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) put the Dolphins back in front for good at the 11:55 mark by converting a free-position shot for her 11th tally of the year.
The Dolphins pushed their lead to three for the first time with the next two goals. Following a green card on the Hornets, junior attacker Grace Detor (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) recorded her team’s third straight free-position goal with 11:01 left. After almost seven and one-half minutes of scoreless play, junior attacker Reagan McQuade (Endwell, N.Y./Maine-Endwell) fired in her sixth goal of the season with 3:39 to go.
Off the ensuing draw control, Ebony Reddick tallied her 21st goal of the season after taking a pass in transition from Johnson.
McQuade completed the scoring in the quarter with 10 seconds left in the quarter during a player-down situation.
Each team scored once in the second quarter. Following eight and one-half minutes of scoreless action to start the period, Reddick posted her 22nd goal of the season. Freshman attacker Emily Noel (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius)…
