Man shot in the leg in Syracuse, police say

Syracuse, N.Y. — A 20-year-old man was shot Monday afternoon on Syracuse’s South Side, police said.

Officers responded around 3:30 p.m. to a call for shots fired in the 200 block of McLennan Avenue and found the man shot in the leg. He was transported to Upstate University Hospital and is expected to survive, police said.

Police determined the shooting took place nearby in the 2000 block of South Salina Street. They found several casings and a residence struck by gunfire.

The department asks anyone with information about the shooting to call them at 315-442-5222.
