The Mets beat the St. Louis Cardinals 3-1 on Tuesday. After Cesar Prieto’s RBI single, the Mets fired back at the bottom of the 2nd with two runs, including Brett Baty’s solo home run. Francisco Alvarez hit a double in the seventh to put the Mets up to 3-1, and continued to nail down runners at second base, as he’s done all throughout Spring Training.
The Marlins went 3-3 with the Astros and lost 11-10 to the Cardinals in split squad games on Tuesday. They last clashed with the Mets on Sunday, when New York won 7-6.
