The short-handed Knicks dropped Thursday night’s showdown with the Dallas Mavericks 122-108, unable to overcome a huge list of absences on the roster. The Knicks had just seven players in the second half because of injuries and trades, with standouts like Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson sitting out.
Donte DiVincenzo still managed 36 points for New York, and Josh Hart had a season-high 23 points and added 12 assists and 10 rebounds for his second career triple-double, both of which have come in the last five games.
Now the Knicks play the last game of their Madison Square Garden home stand against a Pacer’s team they’ve already beaten once this month, 109-105. Indiana is coming off a 131-109 loss to the Golden State Warriors.
