Geddes, N.Y. — The New York State Fair drew a little more than 43,000 people for the second day of this year’s fair.
Thursday’s attendance of 43,726 is about half of the attendance record set in 2018 at 86,353.
Total attendance so far this year is 115,427.
Friday is Pride Day and New Americans Day at the fair. A ceremony, parade, drag show and progress flag raising celebrating LGBTQ+ pride will be held throughout the day.
At 11 a.m. at Daniella’s Seafood & Pasta House in the Art & Home Center, about 100 new U.S. citizens will be sworn in at a naturalization ceremony.
The fair continues through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 4. The midway is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day of the fair except for Labor Day when it closes at 9 p.m.
