NYS Fair adds 2 ‘heart’-themed artists to concert lineup: Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day! In honor of the romantic holiday, the New York State Fair has added two “heart”-themed artists to its 2024 concert lineup.

Joan Jett & The Blackhearts will perform at the NYS Fair’s Suburban Park on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 8 p.m. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group will close out Women’s Day.

Also, Chapel Hart will return to Chevy Court on Thursday, Aug. 29, at 6 p.m. The trio, featuring sisters Danica and Devynn Hart and their cousin, Trea Swindle, is known for a cappella harmonies that earned them a “Golden Buzzer” on “America’s Got Talent” in 2022.

All concerts in the Chevrolet Music Series are free with admission to the NYS Fair.

Joan Jett will be making her fifth time appearance at the Fair since 2006 and first since 2021. Her rock band is known for hits like “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll,” “Bad Reputation,” “I Hate Myself for Loving You,” and “Crimson and Clover.”

Chapel Hart performed at the Fair in 2023, shortly after releasing their third studio album, “Glory Days.” The Mississippi group, known for their mix of southern country, soul and gospel on songs like “You Can Have Him Jolene,” also performed at the CMT Music Awards last year and made their Grand Ole Opry debut.

Six concerts have been announced so far for the NYS Fair’s 2024 lineup. More performers will be announced in the coming weeks.

The 2024 New York State Fair will run from Aug. 21 through Sept. 2. National acts are expected to perform daily on the fair’s main stages; shows at Chevy Court will take place at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., while the larger Suburban Park will feature shows at 8 p.m. (There will be no afternoon shows at Suburban Park this year.)
