Oswego County under a winter weather advisory until Thursday evening – up to 6 inches of snow

On Wednesday at 3:36 a.m. a winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid from 10 p.m. until Thursday 7 p.m. for Oswego County.

The weather service comments, “Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches in the most persistent lake snows over the far southern end of the county. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph will produce blowing and drifting snow.”

“Travel will be difficult. Areas of blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning commute on Thursday,” explains the weather service. “Lake effect snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities.”
