Police identify woman killed after being hit by car in downtown Syracuse

Syracuse, N.Y. — A 35-year-old woman killed after being hit by a vehicle in downtown Syracuse Wednesday has been identified.

The woman killed was Stephanie Lessun, of Warners, said Lt. Matthew Malinowski, a Syracuse police spokesperson.

Lessun was hit around 3:43 p.m. near Harrison and South Townsend streets, Malinowski. She was taken to Upstate University Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, he said.

Malinowski said the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and was cooperative. Police are continuing to investigate.
