The country’s second-largest cable TV provider has experienced channel losses from Disney-owned networks due to a contractual disagreement.
Spectrum subscribers saw ESPN, FX, Freeform, the Disney Channel, and several ABC channels go offline on Thursday following the inability of Charter Communications and Disney Entertainment to establish a new carriage agreement. This disruption affects approximately 14.7 million subscribers, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Syracuse’s ABC affiliate, NewsChannel 9 WSYR, remains unaffected, as per Spectrum. (Notably, WSYR-TV is owned by Nexstar Media Group and is currently unavailable on DirecTV due to an ongoing dispute.)
