Syracuse basketball adds Canisius to 2023-24 schedule

Syracuse, N.Y. ― The Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team will host Canisius as part of its 2023-24 schedule.

Syracuse will meet Canisius on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at the JMA Wireless Dome. It will be the first meeting between the two Upstate New York schools since 2012.

The Orange has won 21 straight games against the Golden Griffins and holds a 46-24 edge in the all-time series.

Canisius is coming off a season in which it went 10-20 overall and 8-12 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

The announcement of the game against Canisius means all the opponents the Orange will play next season are now known except for one.

In addition to the eight announced games, sources have confirmed to Syracuse.com that Syracuse will play at Georgetown and will host Cornell in two traditional games. Syracuse will also participate in the inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge. The opponent, location and date of that game have yet to be announced.
