Syracuse enters Tuesday night’s game riding an 11-game winning streak against Boston College, but the Eagles are much improved from the Jim Christian era and tail end of the Steve Donahue regime.

There’s typically an orange hue to the crowd when SU visits Conte Forum. It has been one of the most friendly venues for the visitors. And, the Eagles have usually acted as the right opponent, at the right time, when SU’s shooters are looking to return to form.

That’s all history.

Tonight’s game will again put a spotlight on a matchup in the frontcourt. Maliq Brown helped hold BC’s 7-footer Quinten Post scoreless during SU’s 69-59 victory on Jan. 10. That night in the dome, Brown scored 19 points, pulled down eight rebounds, blocked four shots and chipped in four steals and four assists.

It’s unlikely Post, who was bothered by a sore ankle throughout the teams’ prior meeting, will be as much of a non-factor on this night.

The game also features two emerging players in BC’s Devin McGlockton and SU’s JJ Starling. Both players are rounding into form as February approaches. Starling is coming off a career-high, 26-point outing on Saturday against North Carolina State.
