Syracuse, N.Y. — The Syracuse basketball team takes on the North Carolina State Wolfpack in the second round of the ACC tournament at 7 p.m., Wednesday at Capital One Arena in Wasington, D.C.

Syracuse begins ACC tournament play needing an extended stay to enter the NCAA Tournament discourse.

It gets N.C. State for a third time this season, with the two previous matchups resulting in an Orange victory.

We’re waiting on an update on N.C. State guard DJ Horne, whose availability would be determined just before tip, his coach said Monday. Horne, dealing with a hip issue, leads the team in scoring at 16.8 points per game and is shooting 42.9% from 3.

He poured in a game-high 32 points in Syracuse’s 87-83 win at North Carolina State on Feb. 20, a night when Chris Bell drilled his first eight attempts from 3 and Quadir Copeland dominated the second half and finished with a career-high 25 points.
