Syracuse.com, The Post-Standard win awards in 2023 Syracuse Press Club competition

Advance Media New York won 34 awards in the 2023 Syracuse Press Club Awards for work published on its platforms, including syracuse.com, The Post-Standard, NewYorkUpstate.com and Central New York Magazine.

The Syracuse Press Club Awards celebrate the best of Central and Upstate New York journalism each year.

The 34 awards were the most of any news organization in the competition. The awards recognize journalistic excellence in a wide range of categories, including best print investigative story, news feature, magazine, column, sports podcast, video journalism, spot news, multimedia story, social media and editorial.

Syracuse.com | The Post-Standard breaking news reporters Anne Hayes and Rylee Kirk were awarded the A. Brohmann Roth Newcomer Award, which recognizes hard work, promising potential and talent in young reporters in the first three years of their journalism careers.

Winners were announced at the SPC Awards dinner at the Collegian Hotel & Suites in Syracuse on Saturday, May 6. Journalists from 18 newsrooms across the region attended. Kenneth Jackson, publisher of Urban CNY, was named to the Press Club’s Wall of Distinction, the club’s highest honor.
