Doesn’t look like there will be any surprise absences for Syracuse against Western Michigan. Trebor Pena, Kalen Ellis and Joe More are all on the field without pads indicating they’re not going to play. That was expected. Ellis has a boot on his left foot. No sign of the injury on the other two.

Syracuse opened its season with a dominant win over Colgate and will move up a weight class against Western Michigan. The Broncos went 5-7 last year, splitting eight games in the Mid-American Conference.

While Western Michigan’s 35-17 season-opening win over Saint Francis wasn’t on the level of SU’s 65-0 demolition of Colgate, the Broncos should be a more equal physical match and provide a much better idea of what we can expect from SU over the long run.

The Broncos played Power-Five teams twice last year, losing to Michigan State and Pittsburgh by an average score of 34.5 to 13. They actually managed to win at Pittsburgh in 2021, going on the road and beating an ACC opponent by the score of 44-41.

There’s a chance you’re going to have trouble finding the game on television if you’re a Charter/Spectrum customer, given the cable company’s current dispute with Disney.

If so, you can try fuboTV or streaming directly from ESPN Plus. We’ve also put together a guide to try to help you understand your options.
