Rapper and Syracuse native Toosii will perform at the Oncenter in Syracuse on June 10, after three cancelled shows last year.
Toosii, whose real name is NauโJour Grainger, has gained popularity in recent months after his single, โFavorite Song,โ reached No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 Monday, his highest spot after eight straight weeks on the chart.
The Saturday, June 10 show will start at 7 p.m.; doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $40 to $100 before fees and go on sale on Friday, May 5 through asmsyracuse.com. St. Louis-based rapper Sexyy Red will open the show.
Toosii was slated to perform with rapper Lil Durk in October 2021 before the concert was cancelled and rescheduled for April 2021, and then again to October 2022.
The last show was cancelled after police received warnings of potential violence, allegations which local show organizers said was only the latest, most high-profile example of police unfairly roadblocking Black hip-hop and rap musicians from performing in the city.
Toosii was named to the XXL Freshman Class in 2021, performed at Lollapalooza, and averages 7.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify. He was born in Syracuse and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina.
