Syracuse, N.Y. — One of the 10 Syracuse city offices moving to a new building will reopen earlier this planned.
The Syracuse Central Permit Office will open at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the One Park Place building, having completed the move from the City Hall Commons building a few blocks away. The permit office sees the most in-person visits of the 10 affected by the relocation. The remaining nine offices are still on track to re-open by Tuesday morning.
The city has a contract to sell its City Hall Commons building at 201 E. Washington St. and a deal to lease space in the privately owned One Park Place, which is a couple of blocks away at 300 S. South St. The other offices moving are the Citizen Review Board, Code Enforcement, Mayor’s Office to Reduce Gun Violence, Neighborhood and Business Development, Neighborhood Watch, Planning and Sustainability, Bureau of Fire Prevention, Ordinance Enforcement and Police Department Office of Internal Affairs. Visitors to the new building should use its East Onondaga Street entrance. Limited off-street parking is available. The permit office’s regular hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
